Friday and the threat of rain

A brief, bedtime post, which I hope I will finish before I fall asleep and drop the phone on my face!
It has been a busy week, and it was a long day yesterday at the theatre with my Shakespeare kids, so I’m pretty tired. I can also feel my throat swelling and getting sore, so I hope I’m not coming down with something. Today was good, though. The children were bleary-eyed but full of pride and excitement about their production. As they should be!
My Year 3 students told me that it’s going to rain heavily on Saturday and that we are due thunderstorms. I also heard a travel announcement on the trains about the bad weather this weekend. I have to say, I’m happy about it. It will give me a license to just cosy up at home with a blanket, some books, movies, paperwork for my middle leadership course, and a cup of tea.
Sometimes you need a day like that. No pressure, no rushing around. Just simple tasks and relaxation and, between the simple tasks, stillness.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’d love to hear about what you’re up to.
I love a rainy weekend – as long as I have no plans! Cozying up with a book is my idea of heaven.
Mine too! I hope you get that cosy weekend. 🙂
I love it when it rains is very soothing to me makes me just want to curl up with a book or just lay in bed all day watching the TV but underneath like a warm cozy room
I agree completely! 🙂
